The Depression and Anxiety Center for Discovery and Treatment
The Depression and Anxiety Center for Discovery and Treatment (DAC) is a comprehensive research facility and clinical program dedicated to the study and treatment of depression, anxiety, and related disorders including bipolar disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research at the Center focuses on discovering the fundamental causes of these disorders in humans in order to develop new, more effective treatments. Physician-Scientists and Clinical Researchers at the Center work closely with colleagues conducting basic and molecular research within the Friedman Brain Institute (FBI), the BioMedical Engineering and Imaging Institute (BMEII), and the Nash Family Center for Advanced Circuit Therapeutics (C-ACT) in order to design and implement translational and therapeutic studies in humans using neuroimaging, molecular, genetic, and clinical trial approaches. Clinical care at the Center is delivered through the coordination and integration of outstanding clinical services within the Department of Psychiatry, offering diagnostic evaluation, medication, psychotherapy and neuromodulation treatments.
